Supplementary information:

To reach the meeting point, turn off the A170 Scarborough/Pickering road at the Peacock Inn, then drive north approx three miles up Snainton Lane, across a cattle grid, 300 yards past Cockmoor Farm to the free parking area on the right.

Join us for an 11 miles scenic walk from the Basin Howe Car Park, along high ground, down and across Troutsdale, ascending to higher ground along Troutsdale Moor. Enjoy the beautiful woodland through Dalby Forest, lunching al fresco en route to Staindale Lake. More captivating forestry will be encountered in passing Peathead Rigg and Jingleby Thorn, leading around Ebberston Moor, then on to Broadhead Farm, descending to Keepers Cottage, thence returning to the car park

Waterproof boots will be essential, as the ground will very likely be wet and boggy in places - especially in the winter months. A walking pole - or two - strongly advised, to assist in some steep sections.

Sorry no dogs due to livestock and moorland birds. Assistance dogs are welcome, but please contact the walk leader for more information on suitability.
